Joey Monteleone has earned national attention as he’s fished, guided and instructed all across North America. Among Monteleone’s major accomplishments are catching over 29,000 bass in the last 3 decades and documented catches of more than 1100 trophy bass, largemouth and smallmouth over five pounds in his career.
Expert at catching all species of bass anywhere they swim as well as crappie, bluegill, trout, walleye northern pike or catfish Monteleone utilizes all types of tackle and multiple techniques to land BIG fish; several ten pound bass, a 45 pound blue catfish, a three pound crappie as well as other superior size of the many species, he’s caught fish from remote lakes in Mexico to the Canadian wilderness and virtually everywhere in between.
Sharing all his secrets on the pages of Bassmaster, In-Fisherman, Bassin’ magazine and others, Joey has been the subject of dozens of stories and has made numerous national TV appearances on many outdoor TV shows and as a “guide” on the award winning nationally syndicated show Tennessee’s Wild Side and formerly served as co-host of Tennessee’s Wild Side Weekly. Long time outdoor editor on legendary radio station 650 WSM, his Inside the Outdoors is now a daily spot that Monteleone now co-hosts along with Hall of Fame DJ Bill Cody, Wild Side radio. This popular spot provides “on air” advice to fishermen, hunters and outdoorsmen on AM 650 WSM, reaching 38 states and Canada.
Monteleone focuses on understanding the fish, its habits and habitat, while combining a common sense approach plus simple systems to finding and fooling fish. With twenty seven years of seminar experience to his credit Joey Monteleone is a fixture with National Marine Manufacturers shows, ESPN’s Bass University and several independent outdoor show promoters.
Monteleone spends time in the woods hunting whitetail deer, turkey and small game, is also very active in the state doing volunteer work for several non-profit agencies and is a second degree black belt in karate and is also a martial arts instructor.
