Craig Owensby

IMG_4627“Pretty fair creek fisherman, decent rifle shot, no kind of wing shot at all.”  That’s how Wild Side Guide Craig Owensby describes his own activities in Tennessee’s outdoors, where his lifelong interest in nature and wildlife helped him become one of the original Wild Side guides when our program began in 2000.

Before that, Craig was a TV news reporter at NewsChannel 5 in Nashville and a reporter, anchor, photographer, and producer at stations in Indiana, Kansas, Mississippi and Michigan.

Craig lives with wife Patty and son Andrew on the banks of the Harpeth River in Nashville. He is a member of the Tennessee Scenic Rivers Association’s board of directors and volunteers with various dog rescue organizations, helping abused and abandoned dogs find new homes. Craig tends to have trouble concentrating on home and work during deer season.
